The cotton is noticeably softer than the cheaper covers I've had before, and it washed up without any shrinking or pilling. The Blanc de Meudon shade is a warm off-white that works with basically any bedding I layer under it. Fits the 80x120 duvet perfectly with no bunching at the corners.
